Romans 10:15 …and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent?
I am writing to say thank-you. Thank you for your support of me and my family these past few years. I know that you have personally prayed for my family during the course of life. Some of you have even graciously given financially to the Mann Family to Hungary. When this chapter of life called deputation began I had no idea where support would come from or at what cost it came. I am also writing with a request but first want to share this with you. I quit my job November 2013, trusting at that time that with my hard work and God’s provisions that we would raise the needed funds to reach Hungary with the gospel. Hours have been spent calling, texting and emailing pastors. Money has been invested in reaching out to the churches through mailings of many kind. The seed has been sown.
My goal from day one has been to be on the field by April 2016. As this date approaches quickly, I can look back at many things that have delayed this from possibly happening, including the Lord allowing me to help a small struggling church regain its focus after losing their pastor. Schooling our children has proved to be a bigger job than we have ever imagined. On and on I can tell you of obstacles along the way, even of the time when my family sat in front of a child psychologist to find out why my daughter was twitching uncontrollably at times. Turns out that she is fine, just exhausted from the travel of deputation. I once laid in the ER bed with wires on my chest as five nurses worked to find out what was causing the severe pain in my side. I was told by the doctor on duty that I sat in the car and drove too much and that my own ribs were bruising my organs. I am not whining. I am not complaining. I am not ungrateful for the grace the Lord has given.
I am thrilled to be called by God and sent by my church to Hungary to reach them for Christ. I once stood in a church parking lot with $11 to my name and about 600 miles to drive the next day. I prayed and told God, “You put me here on this path and I am asking, begging that You prove this is right by providing the funds needed to get home.” I believe in prayer and boldness. When we are bold with God I believe it reminds us how great He is. I left that service with over $700 in cash. I have no doubts of my calling. My home church sees and recognizes this calling on my life to be in Hungary and plant churches.
My request to you now is to join me in boldly asking the Lord to provide the remainder amount of support. Time is short. We preach this and I believe this. Please, I ask you to take just 30 seconds each day and beg the Lord to provide the remaining funds to get us on the field and reach Hungary. So many have joined us in reaching Hungary. We are almost there. With 30 more churches we will be at full support. I believe that the Lord can do this. I believe that the Lord can do this quickly. I believe that the Lord can do this in 30 days.
