December 2017 - Year in Review
The year began working with a national pastor to get a new church planted in Biatorbágy, just west of Budapest. Cornerstone Baptist Church is doing well and we pray for souls to be saved and disciplined in the coming year. Thank you to everyone that helped and prayed.
The spring was busy with a planned trip to the states. We were able to visit many new churches, saw many friends and gained new support. Through the Lords leading, we joined Calvary Baptist Church in West Alexandria, OH.
June, we moved to the city of Szolnok to work with established Bible Baptist Church, serving here while learning language and culture has proven to be very beneficial. Also in June, one of our supporting pastors and his friend came for a missions trip to help us distribute invitations to Bible Baptist Church. I was able to obtain permission to reprint the God Simple Plan of Salvation tract in Hungarian. In all, around 5000 invitations were passed out during this week. Our family continues getting invitations into mailboxes and have two towns completed Szajol and Tóseg, 8000 souls. Please pray that God’s Word will reach the hearts of those that have received his Word. So far around 30,000 tracts and invites have been handed out in Hungary through Gods grace. Pray for the seed to grow!
July was the time for camps. One was a family camp in Romania and the other, an English camp. We were privileged to help paint some of the outside of the Independent Baptist Bible College in Coșteiu, RO in preparation for the school year. August was busy with an intensive language course in which our whole family attended lessons from 9-3 in Budapest. It was very beneficial to our progress in language learning. Hungarian is an extremely difficult language and we covet your prayers as we learn.
September came as children resumed their studies. The church had a day to honor the students and provide a few much-needed items for school, such as pencils and notebooks. They were also given a DVD of the summer English camp they participated in. It was a joy to see everyone work together on a work day to get some much-needed landscaping and cleaning done around the property.
In November, the church came together for Thanksgiving dinner with 50 people in attendance for this special service. Everyone had a sweet spirit as we praised the Lord for his blessings.
December was Christmas activities, church Christmas parties, men’s breakfast, children’s Christmas program, Christmas caroling at the hospital, singing carols in City center (new ministries here), and New Years Eve service.
Looking forward to 2018 we have several folks from the states coming to Szolnok to help the ministry here. If you would like to come this spring or summer please contact me. Please pray for the Manns as we strive to sow the gospel seed into the lives of the Hungarians. There is much work to do and few to labor. God bless and have a great 2018!
