II KINGS 2:3 tells the account of Elijah, I heard today a message on him and how younger preachers are to look up to the older preachers.
Here is the quick outline that was given.
I. AN OLDER PREACHER WITH CONVICTION.
II. AN OLDER PREACHER WITH COMBUSTION.
III. AN OLDER PREACHER WITH CONTINUATION.
Today, I was reminded of my college Dean, Dr James Head. It’s funny how you miss someone more after they are gone then when they are here. I was reminded that he once drove 4 hours south and 4 hours back north to hear me present Hungary. He was without a doubt a man of Conviction. If you knew him, you knew where he stood biblically. He was a man of Combustion, even at his age, when he preached, he preached. He didn’t get up a share stories of yesterday he preached the Word. He loved his Lord and his Lord loves him. He was a man that Continued till the end. Even on his death bed, he was a testimony of God’s grace. Dr Head was a true hero of faithfulness and I miss him. There are not many like him, he is one of the last of his generation and time. However, we can like him be a man with conviction, combustion, and we too can continue. Lord, please may i be these things.
