Cornerstone Baptist Church

Biatorbágy, Hungary

Biatorbágy is a town of about 12,000 people however in a 10 mile radius there are over 800 thousand people. To my knowledge this will be the only Independent Baptist Church in this circle of influence. Great things for the Lord are about to happen here at Cornerstone Baptist Church or in Hungarian, Szegletkő Baptista Gyülekezet.

Located just off a main road this will be a great location for reaching out into the community and sharing the gospel. The building is 1250 square feet. The main auditorium is 20 feet by 25 feet and holds about 50-60 chairs. There is a nice hall for fellowships, a classroom and small kitchen.

Current Goals

Myself and Jonatan (national that I am working with) just signed the lease on this building. It is not the church, it is simply the building that the new church will be meeting in. Last August it was a bar. So it is set up as a bar over the next few months it will be turned into a functional church building.

The work includes things like changing the lights that are advertising beer, turning the bar into a stage with a preaching pulpit, adding a classroom and nursery area and more. I am writing now because we need help with these projects. I am estimating around $3000 for this project to be completed. Please consider helping with a one-time gift toward this amount.

Along with the needed work are needed chairs. I believe that this building will comfortably hold 60-70 chairs. They cost about $20 apiece so I will need $1400 dollars to cover this cost.

Please consider helping with this. This is a major step towards reaching Hungary with the gospel.
